Thomas studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich and achieved his diploma in 1990.

He is working as GMP consultant for the pharmaceutical industry since 1994 and was involved as GMP expert in countless industry projects.

Thomas co-founded 1999 the GMP publishing company Maas & Peither, Germany (affiliate in King of Prussia, PA, USA). In 2008 Thomas co-founded the mid-size swiss pharma consulting company Halfmann Goetsch Peither (with affiliates in Germany and Singapore) specialising in consulting services for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry.

Thomas is a long term member of PDA and ISPE, co-publisher of the GMP MANUAL, author of several GMP publications and speaker for many organisations.
